Alan Hatherly In Action At Gauteng Champs
Improving Our Feedback To You

Alan took top honours by winning the South African sub-junior cross country championships last weekend (the above image is during his separate downhill champs). He did it in convincing fashion, riding away from all the competitors soon after the start and building an unassailable lead.

We aren't going to pat ourselves on the back, Alan came to Cadence as a competent rider who has been getting tremendous support and coaching from his dad, Norman.

However, training with a power meter and at his own power training zones at Cadence has certainly allowed Alan to take his performance up another level and put him streaks ahead of his competitors.

From our side, it is pleasing to knowthat whether you are a beginner or whether you are in it to win it, we can provide training to drive your performance steadily upwards.

We are trialling a host of different software systems, the latest of which you can see a sample of above. We like this software because it provides a visual answer to the one question we are asked most often: "How am I doing?".

The above performance chart represents all the sessions I did from beginning May until now. The software is only useful for tracking productive sessions, not sessions where you are noodling along, so it's perfect for Cadence style training. With 3-months training in the bank, the software makes it easy to see a steady upward trend in performance.

We are working hard to launch this system in August. When we do, we will go back and upload all your previous Cadence training so you can see just how far you have come.

Our challenge after this will be to make this available on-line. This will allow you to have a personal log-in through the Cadence web site in order to view your performance improvements from each training block.

The above image is of Carlos Sastre in this year's Tour De France using a PowerTap hub and the new Joule 2.0 computer. At Cadence, we use the 3.0 for indoor training for its additional functionality for indoor use.
